Dr. Steir, what is the average length of these placebo trials? CDC population study showed a dose related increase in asthma with aluminum exposure but that takes years to see. The use of aluminum in placebo is unethical because unlike an older vaccine it doesn't provide a benefit. Using it didn't help with finding if the asthma association is casual, it hid it https://publications.aap.org/aapnews/news/22376/AAP-Study-of-aluminum-in-vaccines-does-not-change?autologincheck=redirected

The theory that aluminum adjuvant is responsible for symptoms following HPV vaccination is impossible to refute or prove based on the current data. Aluminum adjuvant has been administered to both experimental and control group in the vast majority of randomized clinical trials on HPV vaccines, thus masking its potentially harmful effects (Exley 2011)." https://www.cochranelibrary.com/cdsr/doi/10.1002/14651858.CD012805/full

Aluminum is likely not necessarly but a cost measure. It was never used in polio vaccines but has recently been added because the increased immune response it triggers allow use of 1/10 the dosage of vaccine. Unfortunately this increased immune response may trigger asthma and eczema in some. The CDC and AAP say we need more studies.

I agree with unblinding of COVID vaccine in high risk groups, but in low risk groups particularly young men benefit was/is less clear and should have continued. The benefit waned considerably after 3 months and continued blinding would have established this early.

A problem with COVID is since it's not particularly seasonal a few months of waning protection is not as helpful as short term seasonal flu protection. Another is that the most recent booster trial for children actually showed increased infection in those vaccinated. COVID naive children under age 5 given Pfizer’s vaccine saw a 3 ½ fold statistically significant increase in symptomatic COVID. https://academic.oup.com/jpids/advance-article-abstract/doi/10.1093/jpids/piae121/7917119?redirectedFrom=fulltext&login=false
