We’ve all done it- You see something in the distance, but it’s a bit blurry, so you squint your eyes in order to see it more clearly. Why do we do this, and does it actually help? It does work, and it has to do with the light on your retina. You can read more here. A bit of good news? It doesn’t damage your eyesight!
Before you bite into that strawberry or toss it into your smoothie, you should make sure it’s not part of the recent recall. An outbreak of the Hepatitis A Virus has been linked to frozen organic strawberries. HAV is very contagious and can cause illness for several months. If you’re vaccinated, there’s no need to worry. But if you’re not and have been exposed, you may want to consider a prophylactic vaccine. You can read more here.
If you’ve seen the bulky, muscular “Liver King” on social media, it shouldn’t surprise you that he’s an avid steroid user. Despite his claims, he didn’t get that physique by chowing down on animal liver, brains, and hearts. Yes, meat is good for you and contains a lot of vital nutrients, but eating a meat-only diet is just asking for high cholesterol, among other issues. Time to get your wiggle, or rather your waggle, on! Did you know that bees can communicate by dancing with their butts? Yes, you read that right. Their specialized waggles can let other bees know where to find food and how far to travel for the food. It was such an astounding discovery that it led to Karl von Frisch receiving the Nobel Prize.
