Vantablack No, you don’t need to adjust your screen and the image below isn’t photoshopped. Ever heard of Vantablack? Created by Surrey NanoSystems, this dark coating holds an "independently verified world record as the darkest man-made substance," according to their website. It was developed in 2014, and Surrey says Vantablack absorbs 99.965 percent of light. It was originally designed for space travel, but has since been spotted on a BMW and in the art world. Adermatoglyphia Take a look at the pads of your fingers. See those lines and ridges? They’re unique to you; your fingerprints. We don’t typically think about our fingerprints unless we’re doing a background check, traveling internationally, or find ourselves at the police station. So what about people born without fingerprints? Adermatoglyphia is an incredibly rare, but fascinating condition. It’s caused by a single gene mutation and other than reduced sweat glands, those who are affected are otherwise healthy. Read more here.
