Most of us are aware that when everyone wears either respirators or face masks, especially surgical ones, the risk of transmitting or acquiring COVID-19 is significantly reduced. The recent decision to remove mask mandates from most public transportation and public places in many parts of the country, however, has left many of us, especially those with underlying health conditions and/or small children, concerned about the potential exposure to an infected person.
With COVID-19 infections increasing, we strongly suggest that you continue wearing your face mask if you are either worried about your own health or the health of those around you. While it is true that one-way mask-wearing is not nearly as effective as two-way, here are some tips on how to ensure that even if you are the only masked person, you can still stay safe.
